Global Heritage courses are concerned with ideas, works, and practices of non-Western traditions. The Global Heritage Competition is held annually to honor exceptional work in projects with a focus on non-Western traditions and peoples. Up to three cash awards will be made: $250 for first prize, $150 for second prize, and $100 for third prize.

Ambassadors gain valuable skills as they serve the university community

Seventeen Model United Nations students, accompanied by Professor Jeffrey Roberg and Professor Penny Seymoure, spent most of their Spring Break in Bogota, Colombia participating in a Model United Nations (MONUA) conference at the Universidad de los Andes.

Max Mella was named CCIW Women's Tennis Player of the Week and Ryan Jump was named CCIW Men's Tennis Player of the Week following their performances last week in Florida.

Augustana College announced 1008 students were named to the Dean's List for the 2015-2016 winter term. Students who have earned this academic honor have maintained a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on a four-point scale for courses taken during the term.

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Softball team swings into the 2016 season this Friday against No. 14 Heidelberg (Ohio) in the first of 12 games on the team's spring break trip to Clermont, Fla.

Trine's Colin O'Keefe has been named the MIAA Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week.

Several local residents made the academic Deans' List at Azusa Pacific University. These students are honored for a fall 2015 grade-point average of 3.5 or better. They are joined by 2,230 students receiving the same honor.

The Dean's Award for academic excellence is awarded to students with a 3.30 or higher term average.

After a beautiful tour of California, the Augustana Choir will return home to share the music they created while on their annual performance tour. The concert will take place on March 11 at 8 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport, IA.

Nearly 190 students completed their studies at Carthage College over the past several months.

The Arts and Creativity Leadership Team (ACLT) is made up of exceptional arts students with an interest in community engagement, artistic excellence, and arts advocacy. The leaders were nominated by peers and faculty members, and serve as advisors for the annual Arts and Creativity Festival. Members of the ACLT also take on project management for events such as the Family Arts Carnival and the Arts Everywhere Initiative.

The following full-time students attending Rockford University were named Distinguished Scholars for the fall 2015 semester, earning at least a 3.75 GPA with no grades below "C" and having completed all requirements for the semester:

The Iowa State University College of Engineering's Dean's List honors students who have earned a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

"Gender, Race, and Class: Social Identities in Modern London" showed students how multiple social identities (e.g., gender, race, class) create unique experiences and perspectives for individuals.

"Luther and the Reformation" had three emphases: the 16th century birth of the Lutheran Reformation, German Lutherans and the Nazi Holocaust, and the east-west divide symbolized by the Berlin Wall.

Wartburg College has recognized 490 students who were named the 2015 Fall Term Dean's List.

On "Representations of Germany's Past" students studied the ways that stories about Germany's past are told by the objects, places, and people they encountered during 18 days in the German cities of Berlin, Dresden, and Munich.

"Paris: A Capital Experience" lead students to Paris for two weeks, where they studied Parisian life while touring the city.

"The Biology and Geography of Nicaragua" provided a unique opportunity for students to experience clinical work or work on water projects. Both aspects provided students first-hand knowledge of the rural volcanic island of Ometepe, Nicaragua.

Over 3,000 students named to the fall 2015 list

Miami University students who achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average for first semester 2015-2016 have been named to the president's list recognizing academic excellence.
