The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin announced on April 26 that Carthage College's Max Mella has been named the CCIW Women's Tennis Player of the Week following a week that saw the Lady Reds defeat Concordia University Wisconsin and the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Augustana College announced 992 students were named to the Dean's List for the 2016-17 winter term. Students who have earned this academic honor have maintained a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on a four-point scale for courses taken during the term.

Sixty-three Wartburg College students were named to the national "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges" list.

The College of Human Sciences at Iowa State University has awarded 10 students scholarships to support their unpaid internship experiences during spring 2017.

The Great Lakes Career Ready Internship Program at Carthage creates paid internship experiences for junior and senior students. Thanks to the generosity of the Great Lakes Higher Education Guaranty Corporation, a total of 198 students over three years will be able to earn $12 per hour for unpaid internships.

Kennesaw State University congratulates the nearly 6,000 students who were named to the Fall 2016 Dean's List. Students named to the Dean's List were enrolled in at least 9 credit hours of courses and earned a grade point average of at least 3.5.

With a majority of its 2016 squad returning this spring, the 2017 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater softball team aims for its third Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season title in the last four years and a fifth straight trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament as it begins its season this Friday at the National Training Center Spring Games in Clermont, Fla.

As I said earlier, I have certainly coached more talented teams, but I don't know if I have ever had more fun with a team. When you win as many games as we have there is something that is right. In a ceremony on Saturday, December 17, 2016, more than 200 Fort Lewis College graduates and their families packed Whalen Gymnasium for Fall Commencement.
